What You’ll Find Here
Located in the heart of downtown Fairbanks, Two Street Gallery sits inside the landmark Co-Op Plaza on Second Avenue, directly across from the Spring Hill Suites Marriott Hotel. Our gallery offers a cozy, welcoming atmosphere where visitors can enjoy original works of art in an accessible and friendly setting. Surrounded by other cultural highlights, including the nearby Fairbanks Community Museum, River City Café, and many other shops, we are a natural stop for both locals and travelers exploring downtown.
Inside, guests will discover a vibrant and ever-changing selection of artwork. Displays are updated constantly, weekly or even daily, as artists rotate pieces and bring in new creations inspired by the seasons. This frequent refresh keeps the gallery dynamic, ensuring that every visit offers something new. From painting and photography to ceramics, textiles, and mixed media, the collection reflects the diverse perspectives of Alaska’s art community.
All works on display are available for purchase, with each piece individually priced by the artist. While we do not offer discounts, we believe this approach honors the value of the artist’s vision and craftsmanship. Price labels are clearly displayed, making it easy for visitors to discover art they love and bring a piece of Alaska home.
Artists in Cooperation
At the heart of Two Street Gallery is a collaborative spirit. The gallery is run cooperatively by eight dedicated artist members/owners , with the addition of more than twenty consigning artists. All of these creators call Alaska home, with many hailing from the Interior region and the Tanana Valley. This deep local connection ensures that the work on display is authentically rooted in the culture, landscapes, and stories of the area.
Visitors will always find an artist on duty at the gallery. These working members not only manage the daily operations of opening, closing, and handling sales, but also serve as ambassadors for Fairbanks’ art community. They are available to discuss the creative process, share insights into the pieces on display, and even recommend local attractions, events, and destinations. Their presence ensures that every interaction is personal, knowledgeable, and grounded in lived experience.
Beyond the core members, the gallery proudly showcases works from over twenty additional local artists. This broader circle brings variety and depth, featuring both established names and emerging talents. Visitors may encounter pieces from some of Fairbanks’ most popular and beloved artists, creating a unique opportunity to explore the diversity of Alaska’s contemporary art scene in one central space.
First Fridays
Two Street Gallery is an active participant in Fairbanks’ beloved First Friday art walks, a tradition that brings together artists, collectors, and community members each month. On the First Friday of every month, the gallery hosts the opening of a new show, highlighting the work of a featured artist or a curated group exhibition. These shows remain on view throughout the month, giving audiences an extended opportunity to engage with the art.
During First Friday receptions, visitors can meet the featured artist in person, enjoy light refreshments, and take part in informal conversations about art and inspiration. Often, other member artists also stop by, turning the evening into a lively gathering where creativity and community intersect. The featured show is typically displayed at the entrance of the gallery on a dedicated 6×6 panel wall, giving prominent visibility to the artist’s work.
Exhibitions vary widely, sometimes focusing on emerging artists new to the Fairbanks scene, other times presenting themed collaborations featuring multiple contributors. Each month’s event offers something distinctive, reflecting the rich and evolving character of the Interior’s creative community. Since dates and details change, guests are encouraged to check our gallery calendar for upcoming First Friday events.

Pop-Up Demonstrations
In addition to formal exhibitions, Two Street Gallery hosts Pop-Up Demonstrations; interactive events that invite the public to witness art in action. Typically held once a month, often on a Thursday afternoon from 4 to 5 p.m., these sessions feature local artists working live in the center of the gallery. Unlike traditional displays, pop-ups provide a rare, behind-the-scenes view into the artistic process, allowing visitors to see creativity unfold before their eyes.
Each demonstration is unique, depending on the artist and their medium. Guests may watch a painter layering colors on paper or canvas, a potter applying glazes on tiles, a fiber artist working on a felting project, or our photographer presenting a program on Northern Lights.
By observing techniques up close, visitors gain deeper appreciation for the skill, effort, and imagination that go into each finished piece. Many artists also welcome questions and conversation, making the event both educational and engaging.
